What information is visible on my profile?
You control what law firms see: your specialty, credentials, licensure status, case history (if you choose to share), publications, Daubert record, your current rate ranges, and availability. Nothing goes live without your review and approval.
Can I set my own rate?
Yes, completely. You set your hourly rate, deposition rate, trial day rate — whatever structure fits your practice. Your rates are visible to law firms before they contact you, which means you only hear from firms who've already accepted your pricing. No back-and-forth negotiating from scratch.
How does the 8% platform fee work?
The 8% platform fee is paid by the law firm — not by you. When a firm confirms an engagement through SwornIn, they pay 8% of your first engagement invoice as the platform fee. You invoice at your full rate and receive 100% of it. Compare that to traditional agencies that deduct 20–30% from expert earnings on every engagement, indefinitely. At SwornIn, you keep every dollar you earn.
When and how do I get paid?
Engagements are recorded and managed on-platform — inquiries, scope discussions, and full thread history — which builds the outcome data that strengthens your ERI score over time. You invoice the firm directly at your full rate and are paid directly by the firm; the 8% platform fee is a separate charge to the law firm and never reduces your payment. Integrated contracts and payment processing are on the roadmap.
What if I want to stop using SwornIn?
Cancel anytime. No penalties, no lock-in beyond the 5-year founding rate (which is a benefit, not a restriction — you keep the $99/year pricing even if we raise rates). Any professional relationships you build with law firms through SwornIn are yours. You can continue working with those firms outside the platform with no obligation to us.
